Description: Brian Peters
Traditional Songs and Music
Brief bio for festival programme
Brian Peters is one of the English folk scene’s great all rounders: a compelling singer, a top squeezebox player and a skilled guitarist. Brian is one of the country’s best anglo concertina players and is just as good on melodeon, while he’s also internationally - known as a singer of traditional ‘Child’ ballads. His stage act, though based in the English tradition, is full of variety, and delivered with great energy and humour.
In addition to playing many top folk festivals and clubs in Britain, Brian has toured all over the world, with regular visits to the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. He’s a popular teacher and workshop leader, and has recorded several highly - acclaimed CDs.
Brian is this year’s co - ordinator for the ‘Songshops’, his fourth stint for the song workshop series he helped to launch in 1996. He will also be performing with Dave Webber and Anni Fentiman in ‘The Road to Mandalay’.
