Artist: Green Ginger Garland Email: sheryl@massen.freeserve.co.uk Website: www.grace2251980.karoo.net/ Description: For over 30 years the Green Ginger Garland Dancers have been entertaining audiences in Hull, the East Riding and beyond. Dressed in eye catching costumes of red and white, trimmed with navy, the girls perform dances in the Morris tradition, using flower garlands or decorated sticks or bobbins. As well as English dances, their repertoire is drawn from France, Belgium and the Isle of Man. As not many Garland dances have survived the passage of time, the team have composed a number of their own, based on traditional figures and folk tunes. The team perform throughout the year at various functions, such as festivals, fairs and barn dances, with venues ranging from Durham to Rochester.
