After what has been a difficult couple of years for all across the world, including the live music industry, we look forward to filling Chippenham highstreet and venues with live folk music and dance once more! It’s almost two years since we were able to hold the last in person Chippenham Folk Festival. We cant possibly wait till next May!
We are excited to announce that we have three events planned over winter.
October 22nd and 23rd we are holding a weekend of song, dance and music. We have worked with our Patron John Kirkpatrick (mbe) to create a Patrons choice lineup for an autumn fundraiser.
The Melrose quartet will be headlining our Saturday evening concert at the Cause, along with the beautiful sounds of mother and daughter duo Belinda kempster and Fran Foote.
We will also be holding a family concert with Jess and Richard Arrowsmith performing songs and music from their family friendly albums – “Off We Go!” And “Off We Go Again!” Come and join in the fun, belt out the choruses, and sing your socks off. With children’s songs and nursery rhymes, the concert will be suitable for babies, toddlers, and big kids of all ages (even grown-up ones) participation encouraged!
If concerts aren’t your thing we have lots of other events to offer
For those wanting to brush off their dancing shoes we have a Saturday evening Ceilidh at the Constitutional hall and a programme of ‘folk dance’ at the Neeld Hall, Including country dance a Bal (European dance) and a Playford ball.
In the town local performer Clares circus will be holding a lunch time circus workshop near the Buttercross and dance sides will be busking around the town throughout the Saturday.
On December 18th we will be holding a winter day of dance.... Alongside a concert at the Cause with the outstanding Granny’s Attic and a family show from the hysterical Keith Donnelly.
Finally we are excited and honoured to host a special festive concert with the Albion Christmas band at the Neeled Hall on Tuesday 21st December.
