The Perfect Cure Band (Irish)
The Perfect Cure Band is a trio of talented musicians, working mainly in Bristol and the South West, specialising in Irish Dance Music. All three members have many years’ experience, and together create lively music for dancing. The Band works regularly with Val Knight, Maggie Daniel (Newton Abbot and Colyford Club) and Sharon Carr (Bristol Club). As keen dancers themselves, the band has a special affinity with its audience, carefully choosing the best music to suit each figure.
Jill Elliot (fiddle) is a fine traditional player who has taught Irish traditional fiddle for many years. She is a founder member and leading tutor at the Hibernia Centre in Bristol - an organisation formed to promote Irish music in the community. She has played in English and Irish dance bands and runs traditional music and dance classes every week. Jill is a keen set dancer and a regular visitor to Ireland. Mark Wallis (melodeon) began his Irish music career playing guitar and tenor banjo with the 1970s band Kempion touring the UK and Europe. Mark started playing the melodeon in the early 1980s initially playing for English morris and folk dancing. Mark is a vibrant player providing swing and lift to the music. He runs a weekly Irish music session in Gloucestershire. Five years ago Jill and Mark formed the Perfect Cure Duo to specialise in Irish dance music and whilst playing for Irish Set Dance in Gloucestershire, met Dave Lambert.
Dave Lambert (guitar) is a sensitive and intuitive guitarist who supplies the band with its driving rhythm. He has sung and played Irish music for many years and is a much sought after accompanist. Over the past 5 years Dave has played with Jill and Mark at festivals, dances and concerts.
