Teamwork dancing – non-competitive, not ballet or street, and for everyone regardless of gender – that is sometimes called country dancing or barn dancing. Led by teenage band The Downfielders and instructed by Jeff and Elaine Gillett.

In addition to other tunes, Children will be dancing to a tune discovered in the local archives (WSHC, our partner for this event) collected from Harriet Willes of Christian Malford in 1798.

The ceilidh is part of a wider day of folk fun for children across the community to enjoy, and support the primary curriculum in literacy, oracy, numeracy, music development, drama, heritage, physical education, culture and British values.

These events take place behind closed doors, and there is no public access, in line with good safeguarding practice.

The Downfielders
A folk band consisting mostly of school age young people from Gloucestershire.
