Phil Underwood and Denise Dryburgh are DryWood, a husband and wife duo singing lively, funny and soulful original and traditional songs accompanied by melodeons, concertina, fiddle, banjo, guitar and percussion. Between them they have over 80 years of experience performing traditional music, mainly English but spiced up with a pinch of Americana, Blues, Cajun and World music. . Phil is a highly experienced international award winning musician, playwright and songwriter with many CD, TV and stage credits to his name and has collaborated with many celebrated musicians. He trained for the stage with the National Theatre’s WarHorse production and also appeared at Wembley with musician and comedian Bill Bailey. Denise's singing career started as a teenager in a successful all girl group DeLorelei. She has subsequently made her name on the folk circuit as a fine and powerful folk singer and community session leader. She toured with harmony group The Morning After and was a member of Buckinghamshire folk group Bucks Lace. She also played percussion with folk fusion band The Pitmatics.. They are DryWood and that means a lively set that will have you itching to get up and dance, interspersed with getting your hankies out, or laughing your socks off.
